Security and tax, built into every account

A platform that moves your tickets and your money has to protect both. Every account uses two-factor authentication, every seller is identified, and every fee comes with the paperwork your accountant needs.

Two‑factor authentication for every account

Every account is protected with an authenticator app and recovery codes. There are no exceptions, not even for Google sign-in. A new account has seven days to set it up; after that it can only be used in part until it is done.

Every seller is identified

Before the first listing and before any payout, every seller verifies their identity through our provider Sumsub with a valid ID document and a selfie. Buyers, marketplaces and other sellers can rely on the fact that nobody on the platform is anonymous.

Encrypted where it matters

Bank details and other sensitive credentials are stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Changing the bank account takes an additional security check, so a stolen password alone cannot redirect a payout.

A German company, data in Germany

About SyncSeats

How VAT on our fee works

You sell asVAT on the SyncSeats fee
Private person in the EU19% German VAT
Business in Germany19%, reclaimable as input tax if you are entitled to deduct it
Business in another EU country with a valid VAT IDReverse charge, no VAT from us
Private person or business outside the EUNo VAT

Every fee comes with a VAT-compliant invoice. EU VAT IDs are checked against the EU’s VIES register before the reverse charge applies.

DAC7 reporting built in

Platforms in the EU report sellers to the tax authorities under the DAC7 rules, which Germany implements in its platform tax transparency act (PStTG). SyncSeats collects the details these rules ask for once, in your tax settings, and reports where the rules require it. You do not have to file anything with us.

What DAC7 means for ticket sellers

Fair, transparent moderation

We review listings and delivery proofs by hand and with technical checks. If we have to act, we choose a proportionate measure and tell you why, as the EU Digital Services Act requires, and you can ask us to review the decision.

Questions about Security & tax

Can I use SyncSeats without two-factor authentication?

No. Two-factor authentication is mandatory for every account; after a seven-day grace period an account without it can only be used in part.

Why do I have to verify my identity?

Because buyers and marketplaces have to be able to rely on every seller, and because platforms in the EU must know who they pay out to. Verification runs through Sumsub, once.

Where is my data stored?

In Germany: our database runs in Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. Your data is processed under the GDPR.

Do I get an invoice for the fees?

Yes, for every SyncSeats fee, with VAT shown according to your status, including the reverse charge note for EU businesses.
